Mobile Marketing
Ursula Cauffiel and Chris Comer

Definition:
Brand and or content communication directed to a mass audience, target group, or individual that is meant to create value or an action/response using a mobile phone.

-The future of Mass Marketing.

Why? Ask yourself these questions:
1) What are the few things you have before you leave the house?
2) When you hear of a new product or service, what is the first thing you use to research it?

Mobile marketing appeals to our rapidly growing convenience culture in which instant information is the standard.

-Newest way of marketing, some marketing firms just do mobile marketing as a concentration.

Different Types of Mobile Marketing
1. SMS initiated: Marketing through a text message with permission by the phone user to offer more information or promotions about a service/product
-6 billion text messages are sent per day.
-36% of people respond to SMS advertisements while only 11% respond to ads on mobile apps.
-In this case, more annoying is more effective.

2. Apps: Advertising a product/service during an app (news apps, games, etc)
App Marketing Example

During a sports game app, the ESPN App is being advertised between turns.

3. Mobile Web Marketing: Used during Internet usage on a Smartphone through advertising that offers a product/service.
·   -   Largely used as app recognition for services or websites that you already use.

4. QR Codes: Physically scanned codes that offer more information about a service/product being offered through a Smartphone.
